Natural Bug Spray

Plant-based protection for time outside

A great-smelling, all-natural spray to help keep bugs and ticks at bay, without synthetic fragrances or harsh chemicals.

Made with a unique blend of essential oils known for their strong, fresh scent and traditional use in outdoor sprays. Light, herbal, and a little citrusy, it’s something you’ll actually want to wear.

What It Does

  • Helps repel bugs and ticks during time outdoors
  • Freshens skin and clothing with a clean, herbal scent
  • Lightweight and easy to reapply as needed

What It’s Made Of

A simple, effective blend of plant-based ingredients:

  • Spring Water & Witch Hazel: light, refreshing base
  • Jojoba Oil: helps the scent stay on skin a bit longer
  • Essential Oils: including eucalyptus lemon, lemongrass, clove, citronella, peppermint, and rosemary

Packaged in a 2 oz amber glass spray bottle

How It Smells

  • Bright and citrus-forward from lemongrass & citronella
  • Herbal and slightly sharp from eucalyptus & rosemary
  • Warm undertones from clove

Clean, outdoorsy, and not overly sweet.

How to Use

  • Shake well before each use
  • Spray liberally on clothing and exposed skin
  • Reapply as needed, especially during extended time outdoors
  • Avoid eyes and mouth

Tip: Start with a small test area on skin before full use.

Part of our Microbiome-Conscious Body Care line, made by our sister company Stinky Girl Beauty. The same philosophy we bring to fermentation, simple ingredients, no synthetic shortcuts, working with your body's natural systems, goes into every product. Aluminum-free, paraben-free, no synthetic fragrance. Clean body care for people who think carefully about what goes in and on their bodies.

A Note on Simplicity

We keep this formula straightforward, no synthetic fragrance, no aerosol propellants, just a blend of ingredients chosen for their scent and traditional use.

FAQs

Does it replace DEET products?
This is a plant-based alternative made with essential oils traditionally used to deter bugs. For heavy-duty or high-risk environments, you may prefer stronger conventional options.

How often should I reapply?
Natural sprays tend to wear off faster than synthetic ones, reapply every couple of hours or as needed.

Can I use it on kids?
Because it contains essential oils, use with care on children and consider testing on a small area first.

Will it stain clothing?
It’s lightweight, but as with any oil-containing spray, test on delicate fabrics first.

Natural Bug Spray, common questions

My jar puffed up or hissed when I opened it.
That's active fermentation making natural CO2, a good sign. Just "burp" the lid to release the gas and you're set.
There's fizz, cloudiness, or a little sediment.
All completely normal for raw, unpasteurized ferments. It's the live culture doing its job. Keep it cold, give it a gentle swirl, and dig in.
It arrived at room temperature.
No problem. The natural acidity of a live ferment keeps it safe without refrigeration for the length of a normal shipping trip. Pop it in the fridge on arrival.
